Pay your rent and send proof

You pay your landlord directly, the way you always have. Sending proof puts the payment on the record, and your landlord confirms it.

01

Pay your landlord directly

  1. Send HOW TO PAY in your chat. Tezeka replies with your landlord's payment details.
  2. Pay by mobile money, bank transfer or cash, exactly as you would without Tezeka.
  3. Keep whatever the payment gave you: the mobile money message, a slip or a screenshot.

NoteTezeka never takes your rent and never holds it. It is the record of the payment, not the route the money travels.

02

Send the proof

  1. Send the photo or PDF of your payment straight into the chat. You can also send I HAVE PROOF first and Tezeka will ask for it.
  2. Tezeka reads it and records the payment against your tenancy, then tells your landlord it is waiting.
  3. Your landlord checks it against what reached them and confirms it. Your rent is marked paid at that point, not when you send the proof.

03

Which month a payment covers

Every payment follows the same rule: it clears your oldest unpaid month first, then the current month, then months ahead.

So if you owe for an earlier month, a new payment settles that first. Anything extra becomes credit for the months after.

04

Receipts, balance and history

  1. Send RECEIPT once a payment is confirmed to get your receipt for it.
  2. Send BALANCE, or ask “how much do I owe?”, to see what is outstanding and when it is due.
  3. Send HISTORY to see your past payments.

If something goes wrong

I sent proof but my balance has not changed.

A person has to confirm it first, so there is usually a wait. If it has been days, send BALANCE to check, then ask your landlord.

My payment went to an older month, not this one.

That is the rule: the oldest unpaid month is cleared first. Send HISTORY to see which months are paid.

Tezeka could not read my screenshot.

Send a clearer photo that shows the amount, the date and the reference, or a PDF of the slip.
