Before you start
- Use your own phone. The link is meant for you alone.
- Check that your landlord has your correct email address or phone number. Your code goes there and nowhere else.

Confirm it is you
- Open the link your landlord sent you.
- At Verify, choose where to receive your code. It goes only to the contact your landlord already has for you.
- Enter the code. It lasts ten minutes and allows five attempts, so ask for a new one rather than guessing.

Read before you sign
At Review you see the whole agreement. Take your time: nothing is signed until you choose to sign.
- Check the rent, how often it is due and the dates the lease runs.
- Check the property and the address are the ones you are renting.
- Read the deposit, repairs and notice terms. These are the ones people most often dispute later.
NoteIf anything is wrong, stop and ask your landlord to correct it before you sign. A signed lease is sealed and cannot be edited afterwards.

Sign and keep your copy
- Choose Sign once you are happy with the terms.
- Your signed lease is stored against your tenancy. Send LEASE in your Tezeka chat at any time to get the link to it again.
Your signed lease carries a QR code and a reference. Anyone can scan it to confirm the agreement is genuine, and a scan does not show your name, rent or address.
If something goes wrong
The code never arrives.
The contact your landlord has for you is probably wrong or mistyped. Ask them to check it, then request a new code.
The link says it has expired.
Signing links do not last forever. Ask your landlord to send you a new one.
I signed but something in the lease is wrong.
A signed lease cannot be changed. Speak to your landlord; they can create a new agreement with the corrected terms.
