Business identity, document defaults and payment methods

Set the details Tezeka puts on tax exports and documents, the defaults new agreements start from, and the payment methods tenants pay you through.

01

Business & Tax

  1. Open Settings then Business & Tax and choose Edit Tax Details.
  2. Set your business or landlord name, trading name, business type, and a safe TPIN display, a mask such as "ending in 1234", never the full number.
  3. Add your registered address and a tax contact email and phone. These feed tax exports, reports and document defaults; the full TPIN itself stays out of this display.

The same page carries statutory charges, council rates and ground rent, which are levied on the plot rather than any one property standing on it.

02

Document defaults

  1. Open Settings then Documents and choose Edit Documents.
  2. Set the default agreement template, lease duration and rent frequency new agreements start from, and how long a signing link stays valid before it expires.
  3. Choose whether PDFs are emailed to you, emailed to the tenant, or sent to the tenant on WhatsApp when an agreement is signed.

NoteThese are starting defaults for a new agreement, not a rule enforced on every one; you can still change any of them when you actually create a lease.

03

Payment methods

  1. Open Settings then Payment Verification and choose Edit methods.
  2. Add the mobile money network, number and account name tenants pay to, your bank details, or who collects cash, for whichever methods you actually accept.
  3. Pick a preferred method. Tezeka checks the proof a tenant sends against these details; it never receives the money itself.

If something goes wrong

A payment's sender name does not match my records.

Check the account name saved under Payment Verification matches what actually appears on your statement; a mismatch there is a common reason a payment needs a closer look before confirming.
