Run your rentals from WhatsApp

Message Tezeka from your own phone to see who has not paid, check a balance, remind a tenant, record a payment or an expense, and photograph a unit, without opening the app.

Before you start

  • Your WhatsApp number saved under Settings, Notifications. Tezeka only answers you as the landlord from that number.

01

Start with menu

Send the word menu to Tezeka's WhatsApp number. You get buttons for the things most landlords do most, and Explore services for the rest.

02

What you can do

  1. See who has not paid this month: choose See who hasn't paid.
  2. Collected against expected this month: choose Portfolio summary.
  3. One tenant's balance: send balance and their name, for example balance Mercy.
  4. Remind a tenant: choose Remind a tenant, or Remind everyone unpaid for one reminder to each.
  5. Record a payment you received: send the tenant's name, paid and the amount, for example Mercy paid 4500. Tezeka repeats it back; reply YES and it is recorded and confirmed, with a receipt number.
  6. Record an expense: send paid gardener 800.
  7. Photograph a unit room by room for a move-in report: choose Move-in report.
  8. Look up a vendor: send vendor and their name.

What your tenants can do

Tenants message the same number from the phone you recorded for them. They can ask for their balance, send proof of a payment for you to confirm, and report a repair with a photo. Each arrives in Tezeka against the right tenant and flat.

If something goes wrong

Tezeka replies as if it does not know me.

The number you are messaging from is not the one saved on your account. Save it under Settings, Notifications, then send menu again.

My tenant gets no reply.

Their message must come from the phone number on their tenant record. Check it on the tenant's page.
